Magento started life as an open-source ecommerce platform and has been owned by Adobe since 2013. Though it holds a smaller market share than its main competitors, most notably WooCommerce Shopify, Magento has garnered significant attention and been adopted by an increasing number of ecommerce businesses of all sizes.
